How to Transfer iPhone SMS to PC/Mac
How do I transfer SMS from iPhone to my laptop?
I have the iPhone 4 and I already lost all the messages my bf sent me and I don't want that to happen again. Is there anyway to copy my text messages from my iPhone to my Sony laptop, either through iTunes? Please I need help!
If you're using iTunes to manage the contents of your iPhone, you must know it that iTunes can automatically back up your iPhone data, including messages, when you sync with it, so that you can restore your iPhone to get back previous data if you lost it. Though you can't access or read the backup file, and you need to give up exiting data on your iPhone when you want to restore from it, it's also a way to back up your iPhone SMS. Well, there is also a way that you can directly copy your SMS from iPhone to PC or Mac. All you need is an iPhone SMS copier.
How to transfer iPhone messages to PC/Mac
First of all, get an iPhone message transferring tool: Wondershare Dr.Fone (Mac) (for Mac users) or Wondershare Dr.Fone (for Windows users). With these two programs, you can copy iPhone SMS to PC or Mac in 2 ways: directly transfer iPhone texts to PC and copy your iPhone SMS to computer by extracting your iTunes backup file. Read on and follow the way you wish.

You can save your messages on your computer now.

Part 2: Copy SMS from iPhone to Mac/PC (including iPhone 5/4S)
If you can't directly scan your iPhone and directly transfer texts to your computer, you can use this way to reach your goal. Actually, no matter what kind of iOS devices you're using, you can do it as long as you have iTunes backup of it.
Step 1: Sync your iPhone with iTunes
If you're using iTunes to manage your iPhone contents, you must know that iTunes can automatically back up your iPhone data when you sync with it, but the backup file can't be read or accessed. It doesn't matter, just sync your iPhone with it and disconnect it after it's done.
Step 2: Run Wondershare Data Recovery for iTunes or Wondershare Dr.Fone
Now run Wondershare Dr.Fone (Mac), or Wondershare Dr.Fone (if you're a Windows user) on your computer and you'll get the main window below (taking the Windows version for example). Choose "Recover from iTunes Backup File" on the top, and the backup of your iPhone will be listed here. Choose it and click "Start Scan" to extract it for details.
Step 3: Preview and copy iPhone messages to your computer
After the scan, you preview all the contents of your iTunes backup file, including messages, iMessages, contacts, etc. Then mark "Messages" or "Message Attachments" option on the left side and click "Recover" to save them on your computer. Now you can preview your messages in HTML conveniently.
