During the global COVID-19 pandemic, local communities have seen their vital support and services stretched to the max. It is critical that necessities like food and financial aid are given generously by those who can.
Like many businesses, our employees are passionate about helping local communities, both in good times, and in times of need. For this reason, we at Wondershare have created our #WondershareCares program to ensure that our local communities and charities are not without support.
At our Vancouver office, we've partnered with local restaurant Heritage Asian Eatery to distribute a total of 300 meals over the course of two weeks, to both Covenant House Vancouver and Downtown Eastside Women's Centre. These organizations continuously care for Vancouver's homeless and at-risk youth, and provide a safe space for women and children. Through our partnership with Heritage Asian Eatery, we've been able to support a local business, while supplying fresh food to vulnerable communities.
As part of our #WondershareCares initiative to feed the community, we've also donated $15,000 to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank - a donation that will provide more than 30,000lbs of food for those who have been impacted by COVID-19.
"These are unprecedented times where the COVID-19 pandemic has caused operations and food costs to rise for food banks and charities, and the influx of people reaching out for support will make it worse. It's our responsibility to join hands to support organizations that provide nutritious food to the community in Greater Vancouver." - Faisal Khan, Wondershare Canada.
We're proud of the work that our colleagues have dedicated to this initiative in order to ensure that the most vulnerable in our local communities have the resources they need. To help people who have been affected by COVID-19, Wondershare will be continuing to work on outreach programs and ways we can support our neighbors and the creative communities.
