Backup/Restore iTunes Library

Step 1. Launch TunesGo

Download, install and launch TunesGo software on your PC/Mac.

Step 2. Click TOOLBOX > BACKUP/RESTORE ITUNES

Click TOOLBOX option on the main interface page, then click  “BACKUP/RESTORE ITUNES”.

1. Backup iTunes Library

Step 3. Click "Backup"

Click the option of “Backup” to start the process.

Step 4. Select files to back up

A list of all the files available in iTunes library will appear. By default all items will be checked. From this list, you can select the ones that you want to backup. Select the backup path and then click  “Backup” button to start the process.

Step 5. iTunes Backup succeeds

Once the backup of files are taken, Congratulations message will appear.

2. Restore iTunes Library

Step 3. Click "Restore"

Click the option of “Restore” to start the process.

Step 4. Select the backup file and the items to restore.

a. Generally, you can directly select the .tg file present in the list which is saved in the default folder; but if you have moved the .tg file to other folder, click  "Choose" to find and select the .tg file.

b. Next select the items that you wish to restore like Music, Movies, Home Videos and others. All the items are checked by default and you can uncheck the one which you do not want to restore.

c. There are two Restore models.

1) Restore iTunes Library based on the old one (the old iTunes library will not be deleted.)

2) Delete the current iTunes Library and restore a new one.

There is an option of “Delete current iTunes library before restoring from the backup”. You can select it if you wish to delete the current library. Next, click "Restore".

d. A page will appear to ask you if you are sure to restore library. Click  “Restore” if you are sure.

Step 5. Restoring iTunes succeeds

Once the library is restored, Congratulations message will appear and you will be asked to restart TunesGo to get the updated iTunes library.
