Cleaning up Music in iTunes Library mainly includes fix music Tags, missing covers, duplicate tracks and missing tracks. Following are the steps.
Download, install and launch TunesGo software on your PC/Mac.
Select ITUNES LIBARARY on the main page and from here click Music icon which is the first icon in the list. All the songs in the library will be displayed.
In order to clean up music in iTunes Library, there are 2 methods as below.
a. In order to start the process, click “Clean Up” icon at the top-right corner.
b. From the pop-up window, click “Scan” button that will start scanning the tracks. The number of tracks with Missing Tags, Missing Covers, Duplicate Tracks and Missing Tracks will be shown respectively.
Now you can click Fix button to clean up your library from these 4 aspects just by one click.
Or you can select one of the options from Missing Tags, Missing Covers, Duplicate Tracks, Missing Tracks and then click the related button to go ahead.
a. Click “Fix” to fix music tags and then click Save button to save the result.
b. Click "Get Covers" to fix music covers and then click Save button to save the fixed covers.
c. Click "Delete Duplicates" to delete the duplicate tracks
d. Click "Clean" to clean missing tracks.
Once the files have been fixed, TunesGo will show congratulations message with update on the files regarding Missing Tags, Missing Covers, Duplicate Tracks and Missing Tracks.
a. TunesGo will show the message after successful fixing of music tags.
b. TunesGo will show the message after successful fixing of music covers.
c. TunesGo will show the message after successful deleting of duplicate files.
TunesGo will show message after successful cleaning of missing tracks.
Note. Another way to clean up iTunes is by going to TOOLBOX on the main interface page and then clicking the option of CLEAN UP ITUNES LIBRARY from there. After that, the steps are the same as above step 3 and step 4.
If you want to fix ID tags for a single song or only a few of songs, then selective and manual clean up can be used.
a. From the list of music songs in iTunes library, select the one for which you wish to fix tags. Right click the song and click “Edit Music Info” in order to edit ID3 tags.
b. You can manually change the music name, Artist, Album, Genre, Year, Track and then click “Save”.
c. You can even click “Identify” in order to fix ID tags automatically and then click “Save”.
