Wondershare PDFelement supports two password types:

1. Open password: You can set this kind of password to prevent from opening the document. Others need to enter the password to open the PDF file.
2. Permission password: set this password to prevent from printing or modifying the document content.

Setting PDF password

To set PDF password, please follow the steps below:

1. Click Protect>Password, you can editer to set password to current document or to multiple documents in a batch.
2. In the pop up window, please check 'Require a password to open the document' box and then type the password below to set the document open password.
3. Please check 'Require a password to change security settings and access specific functions' box and then type the password below to set the permisson password.
4. Then you can select whether to allow printing or editing the document by changing the dropdown box settings.
